The Veena - a seasonal journal of poetry and art
Ends on
A new creative offering from Jambu Press and Studio Saraswati, The Veena is a seasonal journal of poetry and art featuring a selection of work with a unifying theme. The Veena seeks to offer insight, inspiration, and light in all its varied forms.
Please submit poems and art for our inaugural spring edition: Flower Power. Interpretations of the theme are left to your imagination and artistry, but may include celebrations of flowers, spring blooms, symbolism of flowers, flowers in ritual, and even the cultural significance of the historical phrase coined by poet Allen Ginsberg in the 1960s.
We invite up to 5 poems, but no more than 10 pages of text. We prefer shorter poems, but will read what you send us with great interest, up to two pages in length per poem. Include all poems in one document, one poem per page (it's OK, as indicated, if one poem takes two pages), each poem needs a clear title. Please use a standard font like Times New Roman and upload both a .doc and a .pdf (for line integrity) of your work. Again, poets please upload two files total (one .doc and one .pdf). Absolutely no AI generated work please.
Artists and photographers may submit up to 5 images separately with the title of each piece as the file name. Simultaneous submissions are fine, just keep us informed if accepted elsewhere. We will also consider work previously published in book form (not previously published on-line). Include proper acknowledgement (book title, publisher, year published).
